Can be served steaming hot in winter or ice cold in summer, matcha chai latte is one of our absolute favorites!
Sweet and fragrant from all the spices and the almond milk, matcha also lends this drink a piquant taste. Moreover, this green tea powder has incredible health benefits that aid in detoxification, speeding up your metabolism, lowering cholesterol levels and it also promotes better concentration.
Ginger also greatly supports your immune system, while cinnamon lowers blood sugar levels. A winning combination, right?
Ingredients (1 cup):
- 1 tsp M Matcha Premium or Culinary
- 3 Tbs warm water (not hot!)
- 1 cup almond milk
- a dash of cinnamon
- a dash of ground clove
- a dash of cardamom
- a tiny dash of black pepper (trust us! ;))
- maple syrup or honey to taste
- ice cubes (optional)
Method:
1. Place matcha powder into a wide-mouth cup, pour warm water over it and mix using either a bamboo whisk or a hand milk frother until there are no lumps.
2. In a small pot, heat almond milk and spices over medium heat for about 10 minutes (the longer you leave it, the spicier your drink will be)
If serving hot:
3. Pour spicy almond milk over the prepared matcha tea. Sweeten with maple syrup or honey if desired.
If serving cold:
3. Pop a couple of ice cubes into the matcha tea and pour spicy almond milk over it.
+1 tip: why not make this drink the night before, so that you have motivation to get up early the next morning? :)
